Does Beck use any standardised or non-standardised play assessments in her practice?

Beck is trained in a myriad of standardised and non- standardised play therapy assessment tools.

Standardised Assessments include the Pretend Play Enjoyment- Developmental Checklist [PPE-DC], Child Initiated Pretend Play Assessment- 2 [ChiPPA-2], Animated Movie Test [AMT], Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire [SDQ], Trauma Expression and Connection Assessment [TECA], Adverse Childhood Experiences Screener (ACES), Pediatric ACEs and Related Life-events Screener (PEARLS).

Non- standardised assessments include assessments like Sandtray World, Blob Tree, Gestalt Rose Bush, and Bird’s Nest Drawing.

Once she conducts these with your child, she can gauge whether to provide a directive, non-directive, or integrative approach during her 1:1 sessions with them.
